How weaning happened – the end of our breastfeeding journey

I didn’t set out to breastfeed my older daughter as long as I did. I doubt anyone gazes into the face of their newborn and imagines breastfeeding them for four years. Breastfeeding a three-year-old: what’s the big deal?

I was not going to blog about the TIME cover featuring a woman breastfeeding her three-year-old in an – shall we say – unconventional pose.
